Forza Horizon 5 PlayStation: Exhibition Event Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Exhibition Events in Forza Horizon 5 are the 5 Hot Wheels Academy Qualifier races that gate progression through the entire Hot Wheels DLC — the rank checkpoints that separate Rookie from Pro, Expert, Elite, and ultimately Legend.

All 5 are exclusively in the Horizon Hot Wheels Park, and each one unlocks only after accumulating enough Hot Wheels Medals at the current rank through Missions. The 5 locations are documented as part of our Forza Horizon 5 interactive maps.

How the Hot Wheels Academy Works

The DLC runs on a five-tier rank system. Arriving at the Horizon Hot Wheels Outpost starts you at Rookie (B Class).

Each rank has a set of Major and Minor Missions — races, PR Stunts, and unique challenges — that reward Hot Wheels Medals.

Once enough medals are earned, the Qualifier event for that rank unlocks. Winning the Qualifier advances you to the next rank and the next car class.

The medal thresholds per rank: 175 medals to unlock the Pro Qualifier, 575 total to unlock the Expert Qualifier, 1,375 total to unlock the Elite Qualifier, and a further medal threshold to reach the Legend Qualifier.

Five Trophies, One Per Qualifier

Each Exhibition Event has its own dedicated PS5 trophy:

• "The Rookie" (Bronze) — complete Ice, Ice, Maybe? (Rookie Qualifier)
• "Pros, No Cons" (Bronze) — complete Surf's Down (Pro Qualifier)
• "I'm an Expert Now" (Bronze) — complete Now This Isn't Pod Racing (Expert Qualifier)
• "WORT, WORT, WORT!" (Bronze) — complete Bad To The Blade Runner (Elite Qualifier)
• "Hot Wheels Legend" (Bronze) — win the Hot Wheels Goliath and become the Hot Wheels Legend

Additionally, "Over-Qualified" (Bronze) requires earning 3 stars from each of the four timed Qualifiers — Ice, Ice, Maybe?; Surf's Down; Now This Isn't Pod Racing; and Bad To The Blade Runner.

The Hot Wheels Goliath is win-only with no 3-star condition.

All 5 Exhibition Events: Classes, 3-Star Targets, and Car Rewards

• Ice, Ice, Maybe? [B Class] — Hot Wheels Rookie Qualifier.
• 3-Star condition: maintain 100 MPH average speed — a speed target rather than a time target, unique among all five qualifiers. The challenge is sustaining 100 MPH through the looping ice track without losing momentum on corners.

• Surf's Down [A Class] — Hot Wheels Pro Qualifier.
• 3-Star: 2:00.
• Car reward: Hot Wheels Deora.

• Now This Isn't Pod Racing [S1 Class] — Hot Wheels Expert Qualifier.
• 3-Star: 2:30 — the most generous time window of the four timed qualifiers.
• Car reward: Schuppan 926CR.

• Bad To The Blade Runner [S2 Class] — Hot Wheels Elite Qualifier.
• 3-Star: 1:40 — the tightest time target of all five.
• Car reward: 2012 Hot Wheels Bad to the Blade.

• Hot Wheels Goliath [X Class] — Hot Wheels Legend Qualifier.
• No 3-star time condition — winning the race is sufficient to earn the trophy and claim the 2020 SIERRA Cars #23 Yokohama ALPHA. The race covers the full Hot Wheels Park circuit and is the capstone event of the entire DLC.

Completing Alongside History of Speed

Each rank's Major Missions include completing chapters of the History of Speed story alongside the Qualifier.

Chapters 1 and 2 sit in Rookie rank; Chapters 4 and 5 are in Expert rank. Completing every rank's Missions — including all History of Speed chapters — also contributes to the separate Tank Balloon hunts and PR Stunts tracked through the rank system.
